This is the series of paintings by Senan O’Brien showing various scenes from the uninhabited Scattery Island in the Shannon estuary. It has been uninhabited since 1978. The island also has the ruins of a large monastic settlement founded by St. Senan in the 6th Century. The island is easily accessible by ferry from Kilrush. The Office of Public Works is currently engaged in a restoration program. These paintings are also available as Limited edition prints, framed and unframed in the Gallery or unframed in our online store.
