Helen was born in Stratford-apon-Avon, England and moved to Ireland in 1980 with her husband and two daughters. She took up painting as a hobby after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989. Helen has no formal art training, after working with watercolours for a few years, she has now turned to oils. Helen has exhibited her work in Stephen's Green, Dublin, Carlow's Eigse Arts Festival and Kilkenny Arts Festival. She also has her work in private collections in England, Canada, Italy, Japan and the USA. Her designs have also been used for Christmas cards for both the MS Society and the Irish Wheelchair Association, Helen also presented one of her paintings to the former Irish president Mary McAleese.
