Born in 1980, Dublin-based artist David Uda (Duda) is one of Ireland’s artists on the rise. While Duda’s pieces vary from each body of work, from one-off stencils to glass work, he predominantly uses the medium of painting. In 2000, Duda was awarded Young Fashion Designer of the Year and in 2001 he went on to graduate from Grafton Academy with a degree in fashion and dress design. For the past two years, as well as three solo shows, Duda has also exhibited at The Art Source Exhibition, one of Ireland’s most celebrated art fairs.
With a background in fashion and a love for general aesthetic, Duda’s pieces are colourful and natural. While he draws a lot of inspiration from the female form, many of Duda’s paintings can be characterized by a genuine appreciation of beauty.
